CE products driving IC industry, but CE challenges remain
The fast growing consumer electronics (CE) market is a major driving force for the semiconductor industry, but it is a tough challenge for suppliers to speed up the development of new products and manufacture them cheaply, according to executives from Nvidia and Flextronics, speaking at the FSA (Fabless Semiconductor Association) Suppliers Expo Taiwan. Nvidia president and CEO Huang Jen-hsun said CE products now require high performance and high compatibility, which increases the time needed for IC designers to develop solutions and increases the related costs.
