Cash crunch may lead to rash of packaging and testing mergers
Financial difficulties from last year's downturn have left many IC packaging and testing firms vulnerable to acquisition. Their lack of cash has engendered a vicious spiral in which customers lack the confidence to place orders and material and equipment suppliers either stop doing business with them or demand cash payment, exacerbating their short-term financial pressure, sources said.
