Car-use semiconductor market estimated to pass $18 billion in 2008

The semiconductor market for car-use applications will total $18.14 billion in 2008, up from $15.14 billion at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.2%, according to statistics from Strategy Analytics. While the average cost for semiconductor applications in a car was $380 in 2005, in 2010 the average cost will reach $550, figures from the research firm showed.
