Canon's New Elura DV Camcorder

Canon's new Elura 20MC measures approximately two inches wide by four inches high and weighs slightly more than one pound with a battery and tape. It records video and digital photos to the universal MiniDV digital videocassette and accepts MultiMediaCard (MMC) storage media or a Secure Digital (SD) Card. Features of Canon's diminutive new camera include three shooting modes, Firewire connectivity, 10x optical/40x digital zoom, image stabilization, a high-resolution rotating view screen and viewfinder, digital stereo sound, a progressive scan CCD image sensor, RGB primary color filter, three-element stereo microphone, and an extended recording mode that will give you four hours of video recording on one 80-minute MiniDV videotape. The Canon Elura 10 is basically the same camera without MultiMediaCard or Secure Digital Card support. The Canon Elura 20MC will be priced at $1,499, and the Elura 10 will be priced at $1,299. Both should be in stores sometime in October this year.
