Canon unveils new document technology
Canon Canada Inc. has announced the release of imageRunner 5020/6020, "MEAP enabled" devices designed to transform the level of utility and value derived from multifunction products (MFPs). "Using a new technology that Canon calls "MEAP," or Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform, the imageRunner is an open, Java-based development platform using the Open Services Gateway Initiative framework, allowing for the creation of multiple, customized software applications capable of running inside an imageRunner 5020/6020 series device without the need for additional external hardware."
