Battery Life

The Lithium-Ion battery supplied as standard gives excellent results. We experimented with it and found you can expect to get more than 800 photos before it runs out, even using flash with all of them, plus the ACL screen, automatic focusing and other nice features that are typically energy-hungry.
In any case, downloading images to a hard disk uses lots of energy. As indicated on the previous page, the addition of an external card reader is not such a bad idea. Following our tests, we were able to record 852 high-quality JPEG images and 6 formattings using a card reader for storing the images, as against only 300 images when downloading via the camera's USB interface which stores the images to a computer hard disk.
Nevertheless, it has to be admitted that the EOS 300D has a pretty comfortable battery life (equivalent at best to 23 rolls of 36-frame film). Those who have to have "more" can always buy an additional battery.
