Canada debates cell phone jamming
Canadian officials have instituted hearings to consider the licensing of currently banned technology that would prevent cell phone operations in certain areas. If the technology is approved, a restaurant or theater could buy equipment that would "jam" mobile phones and prevent them from ringing. Others want access to the technology because it would prevent cellular "bugging" or eavesdropping.
