The Gizmondo is a great first attempt at stealing some of the crowning glory Sony and Nintendo enjoy with their portable gaming devices. Unfortunately, the system is not up to the standard of either of its rivals - despite some of its more innovative features. What's more, it's over priced and the backing it's receiving from developers leaves a lot to be desired.
The forthcoming widescreen version could well be the system to compete with Sony's PSP. Its technical specifications sound very promising indeed. If it proves to be everything its manufacturer claims it will be, with plenty of quality games to back it up, then it could be a system to get very excited about.
