Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Minimum Specs
Is your PC good enough to run MW2?
Yes, you may have been stressed out by the rumored delay of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Thankfully, that wasn't true. Yes, you might be angry that there are no dedicated servers for online multiplayer matches. Sadly, that's still true.
But will your PC be able to run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Well, that's up to your rig. GameStop posted a box shot of the PC version of the game, which listed system requirements. As it turns out, as Joystiq found out from Activision, they're final and accurate.
- OS: Windows Vista/XP
- Processor: AMD 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz or better
- Memory: 16 GB free hard drive space / 512 MB RAM (XP) / 1 GB RAM (Vista)

ya i know they didn't make gfx much better but raised the space needed. Sounds like another poor programing/bugged nightmare.
Think they'd clarify whether or not Win7 can run it? I'm assuming 7 can do anything vista can do (except suck as bad) but that's easy to assume when I'm not going to run this on 7.
before you know it will be 512 GB space needed and 16 GB ram

It does seem bizzare that they're releasing such a popular title shortly after Win7 goes live and not mentioning compatibility on the box...
Patch 1.1 Dedicated Server support added.
FYI
Honestly, stuff em.
After the smug, self righteous response to the legitimate anger about the dedicated server fiasco, there is no reason to give these people the only thing they clearly care about (money). Please don't pretend you know whats best for us, we're not console gamers, we know how to find a server online and you can address the piracy problem with server side authentication a la battlefield. (ironically your own stupid fault for not including it in the first place in previous COD installments, but I digress). I remember a time where developers listened to what people wanted and created games based on that. A time when they did'nt ram a condecending 'we know whats best for you' attitude down our collective throats.
So yeah, the minimum specs are of little relevance if you're no longer buying the game. Sign the petition
