Bush antitrust choice good for MS?
President George W. Bush's choice to lead the US Justice Department's antitrust unit is seen by some as a victory for Microsoft Corp. Charles James, who is expected to be confirmed without trouble, has publicly doubted the wisdom of breaking up Microsoft.
Last year, for example, he said, "The one thing that is very clear is that consumers have benefited by there being a common platform." Additionally, James said in an interview last April that, "If Microsoft were to be broken up, you would see divergence of the common platform and it's unclear that you would have as vigorous a competitive market..."
