Broadcom sues to ban Intel chip sales

Broadcom Corp. has asked the court to block Intel Corp.'s sale of computer to network interface chips because, they claim, Intel "appropriated" their technology. In the filing, Broadcom lawyers said that they have proof in the form of testimony and e-mail. This legal thrust follows Intel's failed effort to stop Broadcom from hiring three Intel defectors and Broadcom's counter suit in June, upon which this request for a preliminary injunction is based. The hearing is scheduled for the first week in November. Intel also has a patent-infringement suit filed against Broadcom over cable and network chips.
