Aussie scientists develop intelligent bra

by - source: Tom's Hardware UK

A new intelligent bra has been developed to ease womens’ pain during exercise.

Apparently, 80 percent of women wear an ill-fitting bra everyday and this causes should neck and back problems, especially during exercise when “breast bounce” is an issue (yes, we’re having trouble keeping a straight face and yes, we’re that immature).

Researchers at the University of Wollongong developed special bras from fabric with built-in sensors. Polymer fabric sensors attached to the straps of a normal, everyday sports bra measured strain and stresses caused by different movements. A sensor attached to the midriff also measured breathing restriction. They had two women test out the bras. The women began walking and then increased their speed until they were jogging. Scientists determined that most of the pressure when wearing a bra, weighs down on a woman’s shoulders.

Researchers hope that these new discoveries along with this new fabric will help manufacturers to better cater for athletic and sporty women.
