Bob Rock Delivers Latest Hits With Seagate Cheetah Drives
On a somewhat lighter note, it seems as though music producer Bob Rock has decided to use Seagate's Cheetah hard drives to power his latest digital recording system. "While working with the multi-platinum selling band Metallica on their latest album St. Anger, Bob Rock used the Digidesign ProTools digital software recording system along with Seagate fibre channel Cheetah drives housed inside a Studio Network Solutions A/V SAN. The result was a system that could record and track more information using far less hardware and space, with greater efficiency, all while delivering the highest levels of performance possible for data-intensive multi-track recording environments." With the current state of competition in the hard disk market, it is clear that manufacturers are being forced to go to great lengths to differentiate their products from the rest of the market.
