Current wireless audio devices leave much to be desired. The 900 MHz speakers and headphones on the market deliver almost as much static as sound, rendering them mostly useless for anything better than AM Radio. About the only solution so far that delivers true hi-fidelity: Sony's infrared based system - but it's pretty much line of site.
But those wireless audio limitations are about to go away. Cable Replacement Technologies at Comdex showed off a prototype of a Bluetooth-based audio cable replacement technology it claims will be ready for market within 2-3 months.
