Blue violet laser disk delivers 23.3GB
TDK said it is ready to start manufacturing an ddistributing its re-writeable optical disks compatible with Sony’s XDCAM system in June.
The TDK "professional" uses a blue violet laser and has a capacity of 23.3GB and a transfer rate of 72 Mbit per second with one optical head - twice for two. TDK expects it to be used in broadcasting apps.
