RIM adds instant messaging to Blackberry enterprise servers
Research in Motion, makers of the popular Blackberry email/phone mobile device, has released a new version of their Enterprise server which now includes instant messaging. Enterprise Server version 4.1 will users message people on Microsoft’s Windows Messenger, Live Communications Server 2005 and IBM’s Lotus Sametime systems.
The new messaging system will allow Blackberry users to set up buddy lists and conduct conference chats with more than two people at a time. Message auditing has also been added to please corporate compliance folks.
