Surrey (UK) - Electronic Arts and Lionhead Studios have jointly released their new Black and White 2 expansion pack, Battle of the Gods. Here, players return to Eden and confront a new evil deity of the Aztecs. An enhanced AI system, along with several new lands, creatures, and armies round out the expansion pack. In addition, four new miracles can be performed to inspire or strike terror into your villagers.
Black and White 1 was released by Lionhead Studios back in 2001. Players control opposing gods and woo villagers by causing god-like events like earthquakes, fires and floods. Through these events and with a creature-like representative, called an avatar, players could force villagers to pay homage, which would further increase their godly powers. This would also cause the avatar to grow in shape and learn new abilities.
Black and White 2 : Battle of the Gods has a suggested retail price of $19.99 and will be available for download on April 28, 2006 from Electronic Arts’ Web site. A full version of Black and White 2 is required. The release represents Lionhead’s first joint production with Electronic Arts since the announcement of Lionhead’s takeover a few weeks ago by Microsoft.
