Trenton (NJ) - The New Jersey Bureau of Motor Vehicles said that a computer virus has caused significant delays in driver license processing and testing at locations throughout the state.

Apparently, the non-specified virus has still not been completely removed, though the problems are reportedly only intermittent and just affect the digital part of issuing new and renewed driver’s licenses, in addition to the computerized driver tests.

The state is rolling back to the 20th Century, as written versions of the test are replacing the touch-screen computer versions at affected BMV locations.

The virus first creeped up in the systems last week, and state officials said that they do not know when it will be completely resolved. They did, however, assure that there is no risk of a security breach of personal data being leaked.
