Benq has been showcasing a full-HD (1200p) 24" LCD, complete with HDMI ports and everything else you would expect from a future high-end monitor on your desktop.

The FP241W has a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 pixels and a viewing angle of 178/178 degrees. BenQ claims a response time of 16ms on/off and 6ms GTG, and is marketing the monitor as good for both television and video gaming. We feel that the respoinse time may be a bit slow for enthusiast gaming, but we plan on running the monitor through our test parcours to see how it performas in real life.

Right now, Benq says that HD movies or the PlayStation 3 are both good matches for the FP241W.

Connectivity wise, the monitor seems to be well kitted out, featuring D-sub, Composite, Component, S Video and the all important HDMI features, without which you won’t be able to view copy protected material in true high-definition (up to 1080p or 1920x1080 progressive.) The monitor also has three USB ports, highlighting its potential uses in a small media center in a bedroom, for example.
