Bell Labs creates plastic superconductor
In a development termed "astonishing" by semiconductor researchers, Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs has created a plastic superconductor. Though the Polythiophene polymer loses its superconducting ability at temperatures warmer than minus 455 degrees Fahrenheit, its ease of production and shaping make it interesting to scientists searching for components for quantum computers and other electronic devices.
