AMD/ATI ''Barts'' GPU Specs, Board Shot Leaked
It's a shame that these names don't make it to the production versions.
We all know that AMD/ATI is prepping the next generation of its GPU, which will likely come to market as the Radeon HD 6000 series.
While AMD has yet to make any of it official, there are already leaked details and some potential specs floating around the internet. Thanks to Chinese sources, we may have some details on the successor to the Radeon HD 5770, known as "Barts".
TechPowerUp has been keeping an eye on what's posted on Chinese site ChipHell, and has pictures of what could be the XT version of Barts.
Perhaps even more interesting is this presentation slide that AMD shared with one of its partners.
Hopefully AMD will have something official to share soon.

Its really good to see power connectors on the top of the board and not the end! Now cases strapped for length won't have to worry about accomodating extra space for the connectors

I agree, I've got a 9800GTX+ which is 9.5 possibly 10.5 inches, which isn't that long especially since I've got the 902 to accommodate it, but the wires add 2 inches in length because they are stiff and don't like bending, which then eats away at my drive bays.
It's about damn time they are at the top.
As for the card itself, interesting that it's positioning against the GTX 460s, I was gearing myself up to buying one this or next month, but I think I'll wait to see what these cards are like, bang for buck wise.
Agreed!
Finally, the power pins are moved to the top.
Looks like a budget card ...ewww!

I thought they were gonna do something cool, nevermind....
My 8800GT cards and my gtx480 have the pins on the "top" of the cards anyway ... i wouldnt buy one if they were on the "back" ...guess i jsut got lucky with the manufacturers eh

1) Do you honestly believe all NI cards will be mid end cards? Then keep dreaming. Oh and btw, it's in the mid and low end the big money is made, not with 5870/480's...
2) You've proven time after time to be an Nvidia fanboy but never gave numbers to match your claims. Maybe because they don't exist? After all, it's pretty hard to believe the entire tech world is biased towards ATI or is incompetent.
Hi Silm... I didnt say what the other cards were going to be did i? i just said these are budget ones .. wich they are ....

go pick on someone else
I did provide figures in the other thread .. and i also stated .. the power draw is irrelevant to me ... hard to swallow when someone does not think like you maybe ?
Like your average Nvidia Fanboi (so you keep telling me) i paid for a 5870 and thought it underperformed and put it in a work PC cause the 480 was better at home on my rig ...
get over it fanboi.. as you keep calling me ... i am objective and i find Nvidia better (after comparing both purchases) .. fullstop. is that OK?
I also look forward to cheaper prices and better equipment as do us all, i am jsut not interested in budget cards ..on either "side of the fence"
Those are mainstream not budget cards.
"I also look forward to cheaper prices"
"the power draw is irrelevant to me"
Ye, sure, makes sense.
By the looks of it, it will be equal to the 5850 in performance, but tbh id be expecting better.
Yeah hopefully so, i guess the benchmarks will pop up soon eh
the 58xx are pretty good, so if these appear for a decent price it's definately a good thing ^.^
AMD seem to be holding alot off benchmarks back, cpus or gpus. But still you can only hope

If you bought both a 5870 and a gtx 480.... Why not just buy a 5970? It's approximately the same price, and is very decent.
Besides which, you are hardly subjective if you pick on a thing as small as which side the power pins are on. I'd rather have better performance rather than more convenience.
Last thing... Why on earth do you have a 300 gbp (or 450 USD) graphics card in your work machine?
I really hope that they manage to get the next-gen cards out before the end of 2010. Given the huge mistake that was Thermi, it is time to turn the screw on nVidia - they need to have their feet held to the coals so that their next generation isn't 9 months late, hot, power-hungry and disappointing on the benchmarks.
