Badass virus targets e-mail
A new e-mail-based worm virus, Badass, has begun spreading across the Internet.
While the virus does not damage files, it does create large volumes of e-mail traffic and could cause network slowdowns. Experts say it probably originated in a bank in the Netherlands, and that the cure is relatively simple, calling the virus a rather inelegant combination of the Melissa and Win.Stupid viruses.
Like all e-mail-based viruses, Badass exists as an attachment to an e-mail message and will not execute unless the attached file is opened.
