Audible.com's Digital Audio Player
Some folks like to read, some folks like to listen to books, and some folks figure that if the book were any good they would have made a movie out of it. If you fall into the second category, you may be a fan of Audible.com . Whether or not you like spoken-word audio, inAudible, Inc. has a new audio player available that you might be interested in. The Audible.com Otis portable digital audio player weighs less than 3 ounces and is said to have the capability of storing and playing more than 20 hours of spoken word audio content as well as MP3 and Windows Media files. The Otis has 64 megaBytes of internal Flash memory along with an external Flash memory card slot that allows for 128 MB of total memory. The Otis is 75x5x15 millimeters in size and ships with AudibleManager, the free software that manages the download of files from audible.com as well as music from other sites, and the transfer of these files to the Otis. The box also includes a cassette adapter for listening in the car, USB cable, user's manual with quick-start guide, 2 AAA batteries, carrying case and ear buds. It's priced at $49, but only if you sign up for the service.
