AT&T Turns Up the Heat on Wi-Fi Hot Spots
Widespread wireless internet access has its good points and its bad points. One the one hand, you can work almost anywhere. On the other hand, you can work almost all the time. AT&T Inc. today announced that AT&T residential and small business premier Wi-Fi subscribers can now access the company’s global Wi-Fi roaming footprint of an additional 34,000 hot spot locations in 79 countries that was previously available to only enterprise or AT&T Remote Access customers. Residential, small business and enterprise AT&T Wi-Fi customers can now select plans that grant access to the company’s Wi-Fi network at large which includes more than 48,000 hot spot locations in 79 countries and nearly 15,000 hot spots in the United States. Both new and existing residential or small business AT&T Wi-Fi premier subscribers can access the roaming locations, in North America and abroad, for no additional charge to their current plan. AT&T Yahoo ! High Speed Internet customers can subscribe to the AT&T Wi-Fi premier plan for only $21.99 a month to access this global footprint in its entirety. AT&T Yahoo ! High Speed Internet customers can bundle Wi-Fi service with their high speed Internet plan for as low as $1.99 a month, granting access to nearly 12,000 U.S. hot spot locations, including more than 8,000 McDonald’s restaurants, airports and other high-traffic locations.
