ATI Posts New Drivers for Radeon 8500
Apparently, ATI hasn't taken kindly to complaints about the drivers for its Radeon 8500 graphics cards and is taking pains to remedy both the situation and its reputation. I've personally always been amazed at what an effect drivers have on the speed and capabilities of hardware. Omid talks about the new drivers over in his Comdex Day 2 article today, along with showing the difference in the way graphics look with the now-supported SmoothVision feature enabled . He's also got a slew of new benchmarks in the article that may surprise you. New Radeon 8500 drivers for Windows 2000 can be found here and new 8500 drivers for Windows 98/Me can be found here .
