ATI Pledges Allegiance to 3GIO
Well, were told that HyperTransport and 3GIO were competitors, then we heard that they may well be complimentary. And, if you're talking about the interconnect popularity club, let's not forget PCI-X, which once again reared its head as recently as yesterday . It's looking more and more like we'll see a combination of these technologies in the machines of the future and, as long as they continue to get faster without sacrificing stability, let's just give them all a big hug. Today, ATI announced that it will be participating as a key developer for 3GIO, which, lest you forget, is a serial I/O (input/output) interconnect specification for components inside a system. With IDF in effect until tomorrow, it's all about Intel this week.
