ATI intros ES1000 graphics chip for servers
ATI announced the launch of ES1000, a graphics card that is targeted at servers and thin clinet markets. "Historically, graphics needs for servers were met by using older, legacy desktop or notebook graphics solutions," said Rich Heye, Vice President for ATI’s, Desktop Discrete Products. "With the input of major OEMs and
platform developers, we have designed the ES1000 from the start to meet the unique requirements of the server environment."
According to the firm, the new chip addresses low power consumption and long life cycle requirementswith ’reliable’ graphics performance. ATI said, the ES1000 currently is being qualified by major OEMs for use in current and future server products. (THG)
