Not since the introduction of ATI's All-In-Wonder 9800XT has there been a high end gaming card to suit the multimedia crowd. The All-In-Wonder X800 XT, equal in performance to the standard X800 XT, provides a TV/FM tuner, extensive software suite, complete cable kit and handy remote. A minimal price difference between the X800 XT and its All-In-Wonder counterpart (usually less than $50) makes the All-In-Wonder version an exceptional value for anyone already considering the original X800 XT. Its only weaknesses are that you'll need an optimized cable signal to use the tuner, and that channel changes are a bit slow compared to previous cards when streaming audio is employed.
Pros
Outstanding 3D performance in both DX9 and OpenGL applications Excellent software kit Very good capture quality Complete cable kit HDTV through the optional (free) YPrPb output cable Value added features at minimal additional charge, compared to the standard X800 XTCons
Weak tuner reception requires optimized cable signals Channel changing lag from forced buffering High prices for both X800 XT and All-In-Wonder version| Overview | |
