Asustek to spin off notebook subsidiary in H1 2007
Motherboard giant Asustek Computer, aiming for product diversification in the 3C (computer, communications, consumer electronics) market, is scheduled to implement a business separation plan by spinning off the manufacturing operation of its wholly-owned notebook subsidiary Asusalpha Computer by the first half of 2007, according to company sources. By the spin-off date, Asusalpha plans to have made its initial public offer (IPO) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) and all assets owned by the subsidiary would then be transfered from the parent company, indicated the sources.
