ASUS went all out with the interfaces, packing FireWire and USB 2.0 onto the board. A Marvell chip handles network support and also offers Gigabit-LAN as well as 10/100 MBit/s. For the P4R800V, Asus remedied the missing serial ATA interface on the ATI chipset by adding a controller from SIS. The SIS180 is RAID-capable and supports Level 0, 1 or 0+1.
The additional hard disk controller can also manage two more IDE hard disks, although without RAID functions.

With the VIA VT6307 component, Asus makes the FireWire interface available.
