Help Asus Come Up With Better Names!

by - source: Tom's Hardware UK

So how does "CG8490" and "Immensity" sound to you?

So you've come up with a case with a design "inspired from (sic) ancient and modern armor of both Eastern and Western cultures". What do you call it? Definitely not the CG Series or the CG8490. Especially not if your case looks like hernia-inducing behemoth with curved lines and a matte black finish!

On another front: "Immensity"—a real word by the way—is definitely not the name you should give your "concept motherboard". Why make people think your motherboard will take up the entire room? Motherboards, concept or not, aren't supposed to be "immense". A different adjective might work here, so long as it has nothing to do with large size. And why not try a little word play while you're at it? It worked for Flickr and Google (a misspelling of googol).

Dear readers, think you could help Asus out? Come up with better names for Asus' new gaming PC case and concept motherboard, and you'll get... a pat on the back from us. We can't exactly offer prizes from the Taiwanese multinational, as we're making fun of the company's name-foolery.

I swear one day they are going to run out of names and just start calling things random names, like "tomato" or "carrots"..

Anyways in terms of actual names how about:
For the case how about "The Battlesuit"... or the B100
and for the concept motherboard... how about "The concept"

the case logo looks like transformers so how about 'Asus Optimus'? As for the Mobo, well no-one uses 1 these days! there was never a Geforce 1 or a Windows 1 so how about just 'The 1'?

What's wrong with CG8490? I like names like that. For some reason, such a name makes me think of engineering, while a nice sounding name like iMac makes me think of noobware. And often, such codes actually mean something, which real names don't.

Please Asus, focus on the engineering and not on a silly name that sounds cool...

How about the "Asus, One Licence Agreement Short of Full Transformer Branding Case"

It looks like one of the Transformers' head. They should get outrageous, give it a weird name, name it something like Gangbang or The Gump.

Asus One like Air Force One sounds good too.

how about dropping the whole 'republic of gamers' moniker altogether first, it makes their top end products look bad...then focus on 'awesome' names like the iSUS iLiminator. bah it was worth a try. cg8490 sounds ok i guess. but seriously get rid of the republic of gamers brand

With all the Transfomers references, the case could be called the Asus Takara - it does look like a Headmaster.
