ASP for 17" LCD monitor panels falls below production costs
Prices for 17" LCD monitor panels have fallen below production costs for second-tier Taiwan-based panel makers with the ASP (average selling price) dropping to $125 in April, down from $136 in the second half of last month, according to the latest panel pricing data from DisplaySearch.
The production cost for 17" LCD monitor panels is about $120-130 for first tier panel makers while the average cost for second-tier makers is about $130-135, according to sources at panel makers.
