Asahi Glass reports rising FPD glass sales in 1Q07
Asahi Glass has reported sales of its FPD (flat-panel display) glass business increased on year in the first quarter of 2007 due to strong shipments mainly of glass substrates for TFT LCDs, supported by a rise in demand of panels for LCD TVs and the spread of larger-size panels.Shipments of substrates for TFT LCDs steadily increased in the period due to the completion of facility renovations in the second half of the previous year and the start of the operation at new facilities, the company said.
