Apple TV To Do Casual Games
It would appear that Apple TV, which was delayed at the last minute into the middle of March, will sport casual games as well as streaming your audio and video files to a TV.
The revelation was made inadvertently with the release of iTunes 7.1 in preparation for the release of Apple TV. The new iTunes has some givaway lines buried beneath its code, including "Are you sure you want to sync games ? All existing games on the Apple TV," and "Some of the games in your iTunes library were not copied to the Apple TV [...] because they cannot be played on this Apple TV."
The casual games market has exploded in recent times, and one can buy casual games to play on the iPod via iTunes already. It makes sense for Apple to include the same functionality in Apple TV, though precisely what products we’ll be seeing remains a mystery.
We are moved to point out that some Apple nut, upon downloading iTunes 7.1, saw fit to trawl through the entire back end of the thing to see if anything new like this cropped up. It really makes you wonder sometimes... Share:
