Apple sues over imitation iMac

Apple Computer Corp. has filed suit to stop makers of an iMac look-alike from distributing the Windows-based system.

The federal suit, filed in court against Future Power and its primary investor, Daewoo Telecom, charges that the all-in-one E-Power systems infringe on Apple’s proprietary designs.

The E-Power debuted last month at PC Expo, bearing an uncanny resemblance to an iMac and sporting an array of colors - amethyst, ruby, topaz, emerald, and sapphire. The Intel-based systems were scheduled to ship in September, starting at $799 for a PC using a 466MHz Celeron processor.
