Apple sells 39 million Ipods in 12 months
In its preliminary fiscal fourth quarter result, Apple said that it sold about 8.73 million Ipods in the most recent quarter and more than 39 million devices over the fiscal year. Ipod sales for Q4 were up 35% over the same quarter last year. The company was also able to grow its Mac system sales by 30% to 1.61 million units in the same time frame. Mac sales for fiscal 2006 came in at 5.3 million.
Revenue for Q4 was up 32% year-over-year, from $3.68 billion to $4.84 billion. Profits increased 27% from $430 million to $546 million.
