Apple plans Tuesday unveiling

Apple may introduce a new version of its iMac desktop Tuesday at the Seybold publishing conference in San Francisco.

Apple has been working on an iMac successor, rumored to feature a larger monitor, significant cosmetic changes and improved audio features. Code-named "C2," the new machine has been widely expected to make its debut sometime in September and be released in November.

Although iMac's continue to command a price premium over comparable PCs - Apple's average selling price is $500 more than the average Windows-based PC - the iMac was the most popular system for the month of June.
