Apple security update patches 25 Mac OS flaws

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Cupertino (CA) - Apple today released its fourth security update of the year for the Mac operating system, with 25 new patches making it to the front this time around.

None of the patches are critical, though a few of them do fix flaws that were brought to light during the Month of Apple Bugs, where white hat hackers with non-malicious intentions tried to find as many flaws in the Mac OS as possible.

Affected applications include AirPort, iChat, and the Installer utility. Most other flaws dealt with internal processors, and concerned the ability of local users to gain elevated system privileges.

Apple does not have a specific schedule for security updates like Microsoft has, but so far it has released an update every month of 2007.
