According to a brief statement released on Wednesday, both companies granted each other rights to use the "iPhone" trademark on their products throughout the world dismiss any pending actions regarding the trademark.

Cisco appears to have been successful in convincing Apple to develop interoperability between Cisco products and the iPhone. As part of the agreement, the two companies said that they "will explore opportunities for interoperability in the areas of security, and consumer and enterprise communications."

The dispute between the companies had started when Apple presented its iPhone on January 10 of this year - without securing the rights to use this brand beforehand. The iPhone brand has in Cisco’s hands since 1999 and made its fist commercial appearance on December 18 of last year, when the company introduced an iPhone-branded Wi-Fi phone.
