AOL forms partnership with professional gaming league

New York (NY) - Furthering the presence of professional video gaming, AOL today announced a new partnership with Major League Gaming (MLG), the world’s first and most recognized professional gaming league.

Under the new joint venture, AOL will add content from MLG, including streaming video and tournament information, on Gamedaily.com, which AOL acquired in August. Other site features include pro player profiles and blogs, as well as digital wallpapers, graphics, and other downloadables.

"By teaming up with AOL to cross-promote content, we’re making it easier for this audience to find and enjoy gaming content when and where they want it," said President and COO of MLG Matthew Bromberg. The league teamed up with cable channel USA Network earlier this year and is currently broadcasting weekly reports from the MLG Pro Circuit. These episodes will be put up for streaming view on Gamedaily after they air on USA.

New York-based MLG is known across the world, with professional tournaments hosted year-round. Competitors from over 27 countries have competed in global competitions, with prize awards totaling millions of dollars.
