  1. It will really depend on what you are using it for. For applications that are CPU heavy, the 3930k may be a little better. But for applications that are more single threaded, the 6600k will be better.

For gaming, most like fast single threads, so the 6600k would have an advantage, but there are games that can use more than the 6600k can give, such as BFV.
  2. I use it mostly for games, CS: GO but I can use i7 in the Z170 PRO GAMING
  3. what froggy said... I went from a I7 2600K to a I5 6600K without much gain in 3dmark atleast.
  4. I guess the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming is better than the Asus P9X79 PRO
  5. You cant use the 3930k on the Z170 motherboard. They are not compatible. The Z170 mobo will only work with 6th and 7th gen Intel CPUs.
  6. So you think I should keep asus p9x79 pro with i7 3930k cpu instead of going to asus z170 pro gaming with i5 6600k cpu

    I would keep it.
  8. Don't even think about downgrading to the i5! It only has 4 threads which already can bottleneck as hell nowadays. If you want more performance just oc your 3930k a bit.
  9. 4 channels of memory at x79 is king.
