You will need a low profile Video Card for the desktop computer unless you get the GPU riser.
2 slot wide cards will probably be an issue also.
I chose the 1GB 64 bit card because it's a better match for your 4GB system, and it's the newer faster version than the 128 bit 2 GB card.,4388.html
With a 64 bit OS you should definitely move up to at least 6GB RAM. Preferably 8GB.
I know this stretches your budget a bit but it's pretty much the minimum upgrade that I would recommend.
Be sure and boot into safe Mode (F8) and remove the old GPU drivers. Then install the new GPU and drivers there also.
A budget build for that would be Q9550 ($20), 8GB DDR2-800 low density x64 RAM.
The GT730 will work well at 720P resolution.
The Dell manual on page 79 lists a 25W PCIe 16x slot limit. Many people exceed that without problems but you should be aware that it does exist.,4388.html
It should be stenciled on the MB next to the GPU slot. So there is some risk to doing this.
The Mini Tower version would be a much better choice.
  2. I'm having a hard time finding a lot of examples of 755 DT with faster GPUs. My comment was based on a user at who runs a GTX750Ti in an Optiplex 755 SFF for a home theater computer. Of course in that environment risking a $20 motherboard isn't considered very important. But that might not apply to your situation. GT710 might be the safe bet. But actually swapping for a better Optiplex would be my suggestion.
