  1. The motherboard was wasted money SLI is a bad idea anyhow.

The case PSU and cooler are all good upgrades, go with a non SLI board, unless you NEED SLI for something and you don't really need that new SSD the WD Green ssd should be plenty unless you need to store more than just an OS and frequently used files on the SSD.
  3. If you were aiming for better lighting effects then yes. Otherwise you still have the same system you already had with just a bit more ssd storage. The PSu is nice but the whitebox one isn't the type to burn down the house either. Lights and cases I don't look at much so I am more of a a 'functionality' typer person. Front panel needs to be up top, I needs 5.25" bays and I use them often enough that I don't want to have to open a door/panel to get to them... Other then that I never look at it unless I'm loading a dvd/bdr.

Hmm, maybe you're aim was some overclocking too that you didn't mention. Those upgrades would help with that.
  4. It's a shame that you feel you need to do so much on something recently bought. Heed the advice given above and return things not really needed.

As far as SLI, I agree that unless you absolutely need it, it's a waste.

SLI can only be run on 2 cards on Pascal anyways, your going to need to go older than 10 series NVidia GPU's to get 3 way and 4 way, so unless your doing super heavy GPU tasks like 4k or 8k video editing or rendering, stay far away from SLI, If you decide SLI is worth it, you've been warned already.
  6. I read x2 gtx 1080's in sli gives you at least a 35% increase in performance over the gtx1080 ti

In some games, however most games don't natively support SLI and the second card usually does almost nothing. Also using SLI always, ALWAYS has problems working. Most games now don't even have support for SLI at all and some of those won't even open. Also, is 35% more performance worth $400 more in price over a 1080 Ti?

yes I upgraded for overclocking. my i7 7700k reaches 4.6ghz at 1.25v using oc genie im hoping I could get 4.7ghz at 1.25v using the auto overclock feature on this motherboard and keep my temperatures a lot cooler with the liquid freezer 120 instead of using the fake h60i
