Need help migratin OS to SSD

hey, i bought a samsung evo 850 500gb ssd and i'm trying to install windows 10.
My problem is that i have an original windows version in my HDD and i don't know how to install it in the SSD, since i don't have the license key anymore so i made some research and i ended up trying to migrate the os from the hdd to the ssd but i can't do it, since most of the programs that i tried using tell me that they can't transfer the os to the ssd because the hdd is GPT and the ssd is MBR.
thanks for your help.

That SSD should come with migration/cloning SW from Samsung (based on Acronis) or you can download it from Samsung site.
For it to work total size of all used space on old disk has to be less than target disk's available space. If you have Windows 10 you should be able to download it from MS and install without any keys. It would have to be same version though.
  2. 1. The fact that the "source" drive, i.e., the HDD has been GPT- partitioned and the "destination" drive, the SSD that will be the recipient of the source drive's cloned data has been MBR-partitioned should NOT in itself be a problem in carrying out a successful disk-cloning operation.

    2. What IS crucial (as inferred by CountMike) is that the destination drive, i.e., your 500 GB Samsung SSD has sufficient disk-space capacity to contain the TOTAL DATA cloned from the HDD. Capiche?

    3. There would be no reason why the Samsung Data Migration program would be unable to carry out a successful d-c operation ASSUMING THE CONDITION IN 2. ABOVE IS MET.

    4. We're assuming that the Win 10 OS contained in the source drive is a licensed, activated version. If so, you do not need the "license key" for a successful d-c operation.
