AMD AMD A8-7650K drops fps on some games

I tried playing games like dark souls 3 and it will always drop from 60 to 40 or even lower. I tried lowering settings but that didnt helped. That happened with some other games too. Program Speccy shows that my CPU is always around 100-115 C tempeture. Maybe thats the problem if yes how could i fix it.

My spec:
Mobo - MSI A68HM GRENADE (MS-7891) (P0)
CPU - AMD A8-7650K
GPU - 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (ASUStek Computer Inc)
HDD - 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-08WN4A0 (SATA)
RAM - 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (9-9-9-24)

  1. Your cpu - APU, is throttling down to prevent damage. You want operating temps to at least be below 80C. Make sure your cooler is properly seated and reapply thermal paste(about the size of a grain of rice)if you haven't done so in awhile.

Programs like Speecy and even HWInfo are unreliable for AMD CPU temps especially older ones. If you were over 100C with an AMD processor it would have shut down after 100C instantly. I would use Coretemp and tell us what your CPU core temperatures are in game.

As for the framerate drops, it's probably because your CPU is very old and this will often bottleneck your games. That AMD A8-7650K is slower than a Core i7 920 from almost 10 years ago. You need a better processor to play games. To get one you will have to do a complete rebuild on a newer platform like Ryzen.
  3. Run the game while using MSI Afterburner, or another program which shows you onscreen your clockspeeds, CPU and GPU usage, and CPU temperatures. You have an APU, and those aren't really good for gaming, so my guess is simply your CPU isn't up to playing this game at a higher framerate. That's assuming your temps aren't out of control.
