Looking for Mainboard

Hey guys
I am currently trying to put a gaming pc together. Mostly for pubg, wow, total war,... Mostly strategy and rpg and some shooter.
I am currently this far:
AMD ryzen 5 1600x
Gtx1070ti from galax/kfa2
16 GB corsair vengeance ddr4 3200 MHz
Corsair RMX Series Certified 80PLUS Gold 550W
1 hdd
1 ssd
I doubt that I'll add more than one hdd over time maybe I won't even do that.
I didn't decide on the case yet but I want a rather small one, preferably with a lot of fans.
So I am looking for a suitable Mainboard, preferably not so expensive. I don't need fancy things. I only use one graphic card and I am not into fancy led showoff things so I really don't care if the Mainboard has lights or not. However I will need WiFi (at least I want to try it before putting a cable across the room).
So far I found the fatal1ty ab350 gaming x370 and abn350n gaming wifi. But dunno if they are any good.

Do you have any recommendations?

Thank you in advance

    Hello lux3d3!
There are miniITX (small form factor) motherboards with wi-fi starting from a 100 euros like:
    ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac (90-MXB5P0-A0UAYZ) and Gigabyte GA-AB350N-Gaming WIFI
and higher priced ones such as
    ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac (90-MXB5N0-A0UAYZ)
ASUS ROG Strix B350-I Gaming (90MB0VD0-M0EAY0)
ASUS ROG Strix X370-I Gaming (90MB0VE0-M0EAY0)

You can also go with a uATX board and buy a pci WLAN-Adapter like the Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I

The 1070ti costs almost as much as a 1080 with better performance, consider a swap ;)

As for the budget case with good airflow I also list some options. Keep in Mind that you need 280-300mm graphics card clearance and cpu cooler clearance depending on your choise!

    Mini-ITX cases:
    Thermaltake Core V1
    Fractal Design Define Nano S
    Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX

    uATX cases:
    Fractal Design Core 1500
    Thermaltake Core V21

I hope you found my insight useful. Feel free to ask away!
  2. For a 1600X you dont really need a X370 the Fatal1ty is actually one of the best for overclocking and has decent features.

Talking of which... I want to overclock. I read on the Internet a 3200 MHz RAM is recommended for a 1600x. But I have no experience with it. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
As I said I want to have a Mainboard as small as possible. However, if there's a significantly better atx/ mini atx I'd go for that one. I think my tower hight limit is abt. 40 cm.
Also the summer here is hot and humid. So maybe a bigger case with a lot of fans is recommended?

There is the Xigmatek Prospect for aproxx $60. This one is 40cm tall and can accomodate an ATX motherboard.

Same goes for the Riotoro CR1080, but keep the pgu length in mind and that you might need extra case fans.

  7. Ok thank you. I read through it but stupid question: does it make a difference if I only use 2 out of 4 ram slots?
Tbh I'm not very keen spending more than 200 usd on the Mainboard...
I read on a different website the ASROCKAB350 Pro4 is supposed to be really good for overclocking 1600x... But then again there's no WiFi.
It's really difficult for me... Please help

The memory controller has less work if only two slots are populated.
I can not comment on the asrock´s overclock abilities.
  9. Ok. So what would be YOUR personal recommendation?
