Reason why waking up from sleep is slower than full boot?

So, I have an SSD as a system drive and an hdd for everything else. I also have a Pentium G4560 and a gtx 1050...so...why does it take longer to wake from sleep mode (I guess? Blinking power led for indication) than a full boot?

Because when you put it to sleep it also writes everything it's doing at that time to disk and takes time to restart everything.
  2. Ok, thanks. I guess it was just slower than my laptop going from sleep, but I think something stays on in the laptop while my desktop shuts the power off to conserve energy.
  3. In sleep/hibernation mode it doesn't actually shut down completely, there's always some power left on.
  4. I noticed my ram sticks were on...my bad...power must be on....
