  1. I just ran the test on Game-Debate.com against my PC which is a i7-7700k with a GTX 980ti (very similar performance to a 1070) and unless you want to play with lowest settings, it doesn't look like you'll be able to get high FPS at 4k. You "should" be able to get 60 FPS on high at 1440p though.

So does it look like I will need to get a gtx 1080?

  3. If you want to run 4k with decent settings on all games, you'll want a 1080TI.

If I did get a gtx 1080ti would fifa look better than it would on an xbox one x?

  5. Absolutely, XBox One X can only do 4k 30fps max, PCs can run 4k 60fps (if properly configured). Consoles will always look like crap compared to a properly configured PC.

Ahh that makes more sense because apparently xbox one x is hyped to play fifa 18 in 4k at 60 fps but it cant as the graphics of the xbox one x are only equivalent to a gtx 1070 which fifa 18 will only play in 30 fps on the xbox one x so you would need a faster graphics card in order to play 4k at 60 fps. They have been lying just to make people buy the xbox one x !!!

    Question from Gavsta220986 : "GPU for 4k"

I mainly play fifa 18 and thinking of playing racing games like f1 2017 and need for speed. My current GPU is an EVGA GTX 770. Would an EVGA GTA 1070 be adequate for playing these games at good frame rates as well as watching movies in 4k?

At what resolution would you be playing at? 1080p - 1440p or 4k?

generaly speaking a GTX 1080 is considered the minimum 4K GPU. that said if your willing to turn down settings to low-meduim and play at 30fps a GTX 1070 should do the job. If you want 60 FPS or higher settings you need a better GPU.

So how come fifa plays in 4k at 60 fps on an xbox one x when the xbox one x PU is equivalent to a GTX 1070?

Not exactly. The Xbox One X is a closed system unlike a PC. So it can do more with less. So yes it does play Fifa at 4k 60 FPS. A PC is running a whole lot more in terms of processes then an Xbox (or any console). This is why PC gamers tend to need more powerful hardware to do the same job a console can for less. The biggest reason I play on PC for example is I insist on 60FPS (regardless of resolution though I am currently at 4K on my primary rig) with high levels of AA and filtering....something a console CANNOT do consistently. Anyways back to Fifa on Xbox One X. You basically getting 4K at 60 FPS on meduim to high settings with some filtering and AA (4-8x by 2-4x if i had to guess, Devs are never very clear on how much of this your getting on console, if any at all). If you were on PC AND you had enough GPU/CPU you could play at 4K 60FPS with the highest settings with heavy filtering and heavy AA (16x by 8-16x).

So they are not lying about the Xbox One X. You do get more for less on console hardware though your stuck with the performance levels for it's lifetime where as A PC you can upgrade to have it perform to your liking. I run PC (preferred platform for gaming), Wii, Xbox 360 and One X, PS4...so this is not about being a fan boy and trying to make a system sound more powerful then it is. The One X is a very powerful system very capable of 4K gaming though some games are 30 fps while others are 60 fps. As time passes expect more games to only be 30 FPS as the devs try to get more eye candy out of the one x as it ages. They only have so much GPU and CPU to work with in the end.
