Trouble installing Windows to SSD

Recently purchased a WD Blue 500G SSD for my PC. I tried cloning my current 500G HD over to the new SSD but had no luck merging the OS.

I read a clean install would be a better bet so I have windows on a USB drive but am having no luck. Both "cannot create or find a partition" and "this drive may not be a bootable drive, check your BIOS." errors have come up.

I have tried using "diskpart" to fix the partition issue and have tried updating my BIOS. The diskpart did not change anything and my BIOS doesn't seem to want to update. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an MSI 970A-G46 MoBo if that helps.
