Ryzen 3 1200 overclocking problem please help

Hello everyone I recently upgraded to Ryzen and I'm having a real hard time overclocking :(

I stress tested a couple times first on stock speeds and everything ran perfectly on AIDA64 & Cinebench R15, the cpu temp never went above 63 Celsius, mobo temp stayed at 28-32 Celsius and everything else was cool and nice, in CPU-Z and HWmonitor there were no wrong readings all of them were matching the same temp, only 1 called "package node 0" was going extremely high when stress tested but I researched and found almost everyone said to ignore it as it's a wrong reading, which I believe is right because all the components in my PC are pretty cool. (My PC is an open-case pc btw, I have 4 fans running currently)

Anyways, when I try overclocking to 3.5-3.9 GHz at 1.20v-1.40v in the bios and try to stress test it with AIDA64, almost every time after 20-30 secs. it crashes and I get the black screen (pc still running just with black screen) so, I have to pull the plug and then reboot again.

I honestly don't know what to do I tried changing the voltage and clock speed so many times and I don't think it's safe to go past 1.4v. If anybody could please help me out I would appreciate it so much!!!!

Here are my specs

CPU= AMD Ryzen 3 1200
GPU= Zotac GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5
MOBO= ASRock AB350M PRO 4 (I'm currently on the latest bios version 3.10)
RAM= Patriot DDR4 (2x4GB) 8GB 2400MHz
PSU= EVGA 430w 80+ Certified
HDD= Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM

UPDATE: I installed Ryzen Master and tried overclocking with that, the temp was the same as the package node 0 temp in HWmonitor so it was accurate, though on AIDA 64 it's showing the CPU temp above the motherboard option on HWmonitor showing 64 degrees and when I overclocked to 3.5GHz on 1.19375v it stayed stable but after 5mins it jumped to 100 degrees and I ended it the test cause that is way too hot.

ANY options on what I should do???, I heard on some forum that disabling core boost keeps it to be more stable as the voltage doesn't jump around? :(

Would really appreciate thanks, I feel like it's crashing cause of the hot temperature on package node 0

  1. Most ryzens cant OC over 3.9 my dude, only like 15-25% can or something. And yeah if its a 24/7 clock do not go over 1.4 volts, and as long as the temp doesnt reach 80 your fine, 80 is kind of bad, dont let it go over like 75.

    So yeah, like I said, most cant OC over 3.9GHz

    I think theres something wrong with your cooler or its installation, I have the same mobo and CPU with stock cooler running 3.8GHz on 1.2V and the temp stays in mid 50s max while your hitting 60s at stock. Note also to go above 3.8 I need 1.375V which pushes my temps into the 90s. I think core boost gets auto disabled when you get to 3.5GHz but not 100% sure on exactly when.

    Simon I just wanna say god bless you bro, I took apart my pc yesterday and I found out my Cpu was only mounted on 2 screws :D and that's why the temps were getting so high, I finally got all 4 tightened down, which was a bit of a pain in the butt cuz I was worried about putting pressure on my fan to get it to go but I finally got it, my temps ARE MUCH COOLER!!!

    I THINK I WON THE SILICON LOTTERY!, I SUCCESSFULLY OVERCLOCKED TO 3.95GHz at 1.24v!!!! I STRESS TESTED OVER 4+ HOURS WITH PRIME 95, AIDA 64, CINEBENCH R15 AND IT NEVER CRASHED AND THE TEMPS WHERE IN THE HIGH 50s- Mid 60s!!!!!!

    I wanna say GOD BLESS YA Simon, without ya I'd never achieve such a good performance gain.
